LightWave Server: BLOB request returns HTTP error 415 - Unsupported Media Type

Summary

When LightWave Server receives a request, and the the Content-Type header is not one of: 

• application/json
• application/octet-stream
• application/x-www-form-urlencoded
• text/plain

An HTTP 415 Unsupported Media Type error is returned. This behavior is incorrect for requests that map to a BLOB field or file. For these requests, the value of the Content-Type header should be ignored.

Status

A hotfix is available for this issue. Once the hotfix is installed, the issue will no longer occur. This hotfix is for the 1.1.1 release only. If you would like a hotfix prepared for 1.1.0, please open a support case. 

Note that this is a rollup hotfix which includes this previous 1.1.1 hotfix:

• 1.1.1.1 - JSON response is serialized incorrectly when multiple HTTP Response Body mappings are defined

Hotfix Installation

Install the hotfix by following these steps:

1. Download the hotfix PAK file using the link below and transfer the file to your NonStop system using binary transfer mode.
   • For TNS/X: HF1112X
   • For TNS/E: HF1112E
2. Unpak the hotfix PAK file, which contains the following files:
   • SERVER - The SERVER program file.
   • SWORKER - The SWORKER program file.
3. Stop any existing SERVER, SWORKER processes.
4. Replace the existing program files with the hotfix program files.
5. Restart the SERVER & SWORKER processes.
